On New Year's Day 1964, Jimmy Savile ushered in a revolution in television broadcasting - a weekly show devoted to the pop charts. In the first of an evening of programmes marking the 30th anniversary of Top of the Pops, Smashie and Nicey (Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse) pay tribute to this triumphant survivor from the days when the Beatles topped the chart with I Wanna Hold Your Hand. Three poptastic decades surrender their fab sounds, their hits and their haircuts, for our nostalgic enjoyment - from the Moptops to Take That, from the Stones to Madonna.

Top of the Pops: Reloaded is a weekly children's music show broadcast as part of the Saturday morning CBBC schedule on BBC Two. It was based on the show, Top Of The Pops, following on from its predecessor Top of the Pops Saturday.It was shown on BBC Two at 11am on Saturdays and repeated at 6pm on the CBBC Channel on Sunday. Presenters included Fearne Cotton, Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes. The show also regularly featured Radio 1 DJs JK & Joel. From episode twelve onwards, a new feature was introduced where digital viewers could press their red button to access a different choice of music. Richard Oliff was the first ever 'Dad-Dancer' to be featured on the show, performing to Mylo's Doctor Pressure.

Originally part of "The Saturday Show" from November 2002 until the series ended, this spin-off music strand for Saturday mornings has an extended format and exclusive preview performances from artists soon to be seen on Top of the Pops.

The story of a famously lavish five-day party held by the Shah of Iran in 1971 to celebrate 2,500 years of Persian monarchy. The event was held at a specially constructed oasis surrounded by a city of tents and attended by 60 world leaders, who enjoyed a five-course banquet and a pageant featuring thousands of soldiers dressed in historical costume. However, the decadence on display had far-reaching consequences, breeding resentment of the Shah's regime among the Iranian people.

A group of close friends spend their time drinking and partying. When the American fiancé one of them shows up, the clique protects her by hiding her from him. He slowly becomes deeper involved with the wild bunch while the party rages on. This once controversial British movie was filmed in 1962 but not released until three years later.
